“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant.”
– 1 Corinthians 12:1 (KJV)

The third and final category of the Spiritual gifts are:
THE VOCAL GIFTS
We remember at this point that our Scriptural reference remains 1 Corinthians 12, and today we add 1 Corinthians 14 which gives profound insights into this category of Spiritual gifts.
Now the gifts:
1)The Gift of Prophecy:
The gift of prophecy is the supernatural utterance given by God to man in a known language.
There are three basic operations of this gift: to edify, to exhort and to comfort.
The word ‘edify’ is from the Greek word ‘oikomone’ which is the same word used in referring to the building of a house.
The word ‘exhortation’ comes from the Greek word ‘paraklesis’ which means ‘to be called alongside.’
The word ‘comfort,’ in reference to the gift of prophecy, comes from the Greek word ‘paramuthia’ which means ‘to come alongside and console’ (1 Corinthians 14:3).
2)The Gift of Tongues:
The gift of various kinds of tongues is a supernatural utterance given by God through human vessels in an unknown language.
It is as we pray much in the spirit that we are spiritually ‘charged’ to operate in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Praying in tongues is the starting place for all who desire the manifestations of the Holy Spirit.
3)The Interpretation of Tongues:
The interpretation of tongues is the supernatural ability given by God to interpret a message in an unknown tongue.
It is important for us to understand that it is an interpretation of tongues and not a translation.
We are made to understand that we should covet earnestly and desire Spiritual gifts. All these follow after we know God and have a revelation of who Jesus Christ is.
“The chief means for attaining wisdom, and suitable gifts for the ministry, are the Holy Scriptures, and prayer.”-Author: John Newton
Thank you Lord💃
Now that by God’s grace we are not ignorant concerning Spiritual gifts, let us go in the revelation and be ahead and reign as God’s sons and daughters.
Do drop other Scriptural references you know relating to Spiritual gifts and let us know once again examples of persons in the Bible that manifested one or all of the Vocal gifts.
God bless you real good…thank you for coming along with us on this journey of ‘Spiritual gifts’.
